a HARSH reality

(This post is kind of lengthy, just a fair warning)

This summer has been good to us.  This past weekend for the 24th of July we (ALL the Peay family) went to Lagoon for the day, it's tradition.  It was fun!  I hadn't been for a while.  But. . . . . .  I remember being able to ride the rides with NO WHATSOEVER mOtIoN sIcKnEsSs.  Well, this was a reality check to me that I am getting older. . . . and NO I am not pregnant. ha. Seriously! After/during every fun ride we went on I would get off the ride thinkin I was gonna puke and my head was going to float away. . . . it was bad!  I use to ride these rides when I was little and have no problem! What's the deal!  So, besides my harsh reality check that I can't handle amusement park rides as well as I use to, I had a great time.  After riding rides we walked over to Uncle Don's house and put off fireworks, it was quite the show!!  It was mine and matt's first time to Lagoon together so we especially had fun riding the sky ride and walking around holding hands together ;) Here are a few photos to show what a great time we had.

Sky ride!

Matt played the SPILL THE MILK game and won me a squirrel! I told him that that was the first time anyone had ever "won me a prize" at this type of thing.  I enjoyed the squirrel for a minute, than gave it to Matt's cute little cousins London and Liberty.

We took a ride on the Farris Wheel right before closing time, it was soo windy and started to rain a bit, scary.

So in L.O.V.E <3

I love this baby boy Ben.  I can't help but feel baby hungry after holding him :/ Such a good baby!

Summer Softball League

This summer I've been able to go watch Matt play every Thursday night in a softball league.  I've loved it!  It's a way for Matt to not only 'stay active' but he gets to impress me with his skills. Although it's not quite like his baseball days at SLCC, I think he still loves it.

Matt always has the biggest/only cheering section at all his games

A Delicious Treat
When me at matt were dating, he liked to make me this special treat.  This special treat is a Orange Julious! It is quite yummy and pretty darn easy to make.

The recipe? Here you go. . . .

-1/2 of a 12 oz can of frozen orange juice
-1 cup water
-1 cup milk
-1/4 cup sugar
-1 tsp vanilla
-12 to 16 ice cubes
-BLEND and LOVE

After Matt's softball game Thursday night we came home and he made us this yummy treat while we watched a movie.  Sometimes the simple things are more fun :)

Clearly, we are having a great summer :)

Until next time . . . . ta ta for now!

A quick update/ Blast from thee Past

So here's what's been goin' on. . . .

Me and Matthew went to the Bountiful Handcart Days Parade Friday and enjoyed watching the 30 minute parade.  It was the fastest parade I think I had ever seen. . . (a little disappointed this year) and then we went and hung out at gma jones's with the fam for a bit then drove up on his bike to the boulevard to watch some more FIREWORKS!  The fireworks definitely made up for the parade. . . in my opinion ;)  They were great this year!  Not to mention at least 35 minutes looong.  I had fun pointing out different "shapes???" of fireworks. . . if you will, that I had never seen.  Like, the red rose firework (for real!) a smiley face, saw some stars in there.... and a whole bunch of others that I can't remember right now.  ANYWAY, bottom line, fireworks were awesome.

On Saturday, me and matt both had work off so we decided to take a drive on the bike up in the beautiful mountains of Emmigration Canyon.  It was gorgeous! But before we did so, we stopped at one of the best burger places in salt lake, Hires Big H. Now, if you've never had a chance to have a burger there first of all I'm sorry, and second, go have one!  You won't be disappointed.  It was delicious and I loved every calorie :) Their root beer is to die for, they have that yummy crunchy ice and they put it in a frosted mug, and the frys and fry sauce aren't too bad either.  It was so good. - There are pictures to show you just how good it looks.

And lastly, Saturday night I was able to get together with two of my best friends from high school whitney and nichole for a girls night out.  All we did was get together for dinner at Applebees, but that's all we need to do to have a good time.  We were there for about 3 1/2 hours just talking.  It was so great to catch up with them!  They have been two of my closest friends since high school and have been there to catch me when I fall. . . . . many, many, many times.  No pun intended.  It was great.  I love seeing them and getting together to catch up on what's going on in their lives.  They have been blessings in my life and I am so grateful that we have continued to stay close, even though we have all gone our separate ways.  Their friendship is something I will never take for granted and something that I will cherish forever!  I hope some day our kids are friends so we'll have other reasons to get together often.  :) Anyway, you'll enjoy looking at some pictures of Saturday and then of course, a few from our past.  I had to narrow them down to about 6 of a million pictures. . . . the rest you just wouldn't understand.

So much for a QUICK update, but here you go :)

Enjoy and happy holiday weekend/week!

This was right before the parade last year. Hard to believe that I was dating this HUNK one year ago during all this!

(Exactly one year ago at Texas Roadhouse)

They were better than this...promise.  This is just where we were watching them from.

This is matt's cousin brayden and his girly friend jenna

Gma and Gpa Jones.... they are great!!!

 And Landon of course.

Love you two! Thanks for the fun chats!

We are weird when we get together, lets be honest.

Senior year is when me and Whit really became friends :)

And me and Nicky.  We've been friends forever.  Literally.

In St. George together.

Love you guys!
