The Day before the Night before Christmas

Merry Christmas!  It is just right around the corner!

As promised, here is a picture of my finished project.  After about 4 hours, 2 trips to JoAnns, burnt and raw fingers, this is how it turned out.

As I was getting close to finishing, I noticed that it started to look a lot like my wedding dress. . . . almost exactly like my dress!  Go figure ;)

I ended up spraying it with gold glitter which made it really cute!  Although, you can't see it in the pictures.

Love date night with my man.  Cafe Rio (matt's fave) & a JAZZ game

All ready for the family Christmas party #1, I'm so glad I have him <3

Mmmmm. . . . Gotta love the holidays.

Merry Christmas!

An afternoon in the Mountains

A few weeks ago matt landed us a sweet deal for some ski passes to Park City.  Matt had work off Thursday, so we left that morning to go to PC for a few hours before I had to be at work.

It was a blast!

I'll admit, I am definitely a cautious skier.  I've only been a number of times and so each time I go I feel like I need to re-teach myself how to ski "well."

Matt's been skiing since he was like 3 so obviously he's pro, which is great for me because then I have an attractive teacher who will laugh at me when I get knocked over by the opening and closing gate. . . the one right before you get on the lift, and then he'll smile and tell me it's ok and that he still loves me. (True and embarrassing story.) Surprisingly, that was the only time I fell. :) What can I say, I have a great teacher!

Going back into the lodge after skiing for a while is the best feeling ever.  Not to mention it's toasty warm. :)

It was a great day. . . .  Thanks babe! xoxo

I was also able to finish putting together our Christmas tree, finally.  I love it!  My mom took me to Tai-Pan Trading.  We spent a good couple hours in there.  That store is amazing!  I had so much fun shopping with my mom, she is the greatest. :)

These are the red rose ornaments I made.  I was trying to copy-cat my bouquet from my wedding day<3

I also made cream colored ones.

I still have yet to make my tree skirt, which I plan on making next week.  I'll post pictures of it when I'm done, I'm quite excited for it.

8 days left. . . . Hooray!

Merry Christmas, friends!

The most WONDERFUL time of the year

Ahhh :) Finishing up fall semester is possibly the greatest feeling in the world.  It truely is the most wonderful time of the year. Today I handed in my final 2 papers, and I can't even explain how I felt at that moment.  It was a wondrous feeling!  Matt finished his last paper last night, so we are finally free birds!

I can't even express how great it feels.

So tonight we are going out to celebrate!  Probably to go see the lights on temple square and out to dinner.  Can't wait. :)

Although this has been a crazy semester, me and matt still made time for some holiday cheer.  Last weekend we went to Festival of Trees.  I wish I could have taken home some of the trees!  They were fabulous.

This tree was probably my favorite.  I loved the colors and the tree skirt was amazing! I wish I knew how to make it!

Although you probably can't really see this one, it's a "hunting tree."  Probably Matt's favorite.  It had all sorts of stuff in it, antlers, quail feathers, its was pretty fancy.

And of course, a great looking tree.  Love the star. :)

We also did our annual gingerbread house making 'competition' with my family.  This year mine and Matt's house "rocked."  My dad said it won the award for the "heavyest house."  My dad is very original. ;) It was hard to top of last years, but I'd say it turned out pretty great.

So this was last years log home edition gingerbread house.
We were pretty happy about it.

And this was this years "rock-themed" home.  Also pretty proud of it.

I also made a cute little Christmas wreath. Now that school's done, I need to work on decorating our house up for Christmas!

I can't wait to have our first Christmas together as a married couple, and in our new home!

I just love this time of the year. :)

Re-construction

Has anyone had problems uploading pictures to blogger because there was not enough storage space??? Crap. Until I get more space, ignore the re-construction of my blog.

I'll be up and running soon... hopefully. :)

I'm back! For a moment...

Wow, hello again!  Happy Halloween and Thanksgiving! Ha, is it too late?? I've been a little M.I.A this past little while. Apologies. I need to catch my breath. There is quite a bit to catch up on!

(I'll be brief)

It has been a crazy month or so!  And by crazy I mean good.  Besides the holiday's, school, and work, we finally moved into our new home!  It was probably the most hectic time of the year we could have chose to move in, but it has been worth it.  (Even if half our stuff is still in boxes crammed into one of the spare bedrooms...yikes!) We'll eventually tackle the unpacking. . . .

Right after finals.

We eventually want to do some painting in some of the rooms so for now, I'll have to post some pictures of the place. . . . . as soon as I get around to that. :)

Halloween was good. . . . went over to Gma Jone's to have some yummy soup and take a cute picture with her.  Matt worked until about 6, we had some taco soup, headed over to my parents house for a bit, and then watched a scary movie with my cute sis Camille and her friend that is a boy. ;)  It was a good time. We also went to see THRILLER with my family.  Another favorite tradition around Halloween!

Thanksgiving was great.  Took family pictures with the Peays, had two Thanksgiving meals, played the infamous candy bar game at gmas, ate way too  much, and did some Black Friday Shoppin.  A little over rated if you ask me.  UNLESS you have something specific you are going for, it's for a steal of a deal, and money is not an issue, in my opinion. . .  it's not really worth it.  I dunno.  Me and Matt wanted to get a home theater sound system for our family room and so we headed to Walmart around 10:30.  Bad, bad idea.  Even though we got a great deal of a big whoopin $40 off, if you know me, I can't stay up past midnight.  I got a little bit cranky waiting in lines that were hours long.

Next year I'll remind myself how much I love Black Friday shopping before I go. ;)

We ended up just shopping for things that we still needed for our house, so it was alright.  I just treasure my sleep more than anything, Matt knows this better than anyone. :)  We had fun together, I just don't know if the long lines, and crowds of pushy, crazy people are worth it.  That's just me though. Anyway, it was a great holiday weekend.  I can hardly wait for Christmas and this year to spend it with my honey!  We'll be going on one year this month! Can hardly believe it. . . :)

I'll post some pictures of our home once we get it organized and decorated!

Matt was a hunter, and I was his catch.  (Not counting his other two deer he caught a couple weeks prior. . .)

A favorite of last year on Halloween.  Love this witch!
She came up to me right after I took her picture. ha :/

I feel SO incredibly blessed to have married into such a great family!  I love my in-laws and want to thank them for all they do for me and matthew! Especially helping us with the move.  We really appreciate it!

Hopefully I'll be able to get back into the blogging groove after this semester is over.

Until next time. . .

Happy Holidays!
