h + m: One year older and Wiser too

First of all I would like to say. . . . .

Thank you to all of you who wished me a happy birthday friday!!! I was overwhelmed by not only all of the facebook notifications I received from family and friends. . . (which was so fun to read throughout my day :) ) but by all of the kind words I received and for the friendships I have with all of you... so THANK YOU! It was truly the best birthday yet! Not to mention that I was completely spoiled by my husband. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . probably too much haha.

Matthew was such a sweetheart. Thursday night he kept asking me what i wanted to do for my birthday and all I would say was "i don't know! i don't care!" because honestly, i had no idea what i wanted to do. Matt was scheduled to work at 11:00 friday and so i had just planed to go shopping with my mom while he was at work. He kept asking me if I had the choice to do anything i wanted if that was what i REALLY wanted to do. . . . confused, i just kept saying yeah..? You'll be at work anyway.... so does it really matter what i'm doing?? Well. . . . . what I didn't know was that he postponed work until 3 o'clock, so he was planning this perfect little morning/afternoon birthday date. His plan went as follows :

-Wake me up super early. . . and i mean SUPER early

-Drive down to Lindon (near provo)

-Pick up the horse trailer

-Pick up Sparky and Silver (the horses)

-Drive up to American Fork Canyon

-Go on a horse ride up through the canyon, just me and him

-Have breakfast somewhere up in the mountains while he sneaks me some presents

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . well

I've come to find out that he is not good at hiding things (which can be a good thing ha) but i mean he is not the greatest at planning out big surprises, i think he just gets too excited! At one point he asked me if i would want to go on a horse ride on my birthday and i was telling him there is no way we could do that anyway because he had to work at 11.... I was sort of beginning to be suspicious. He also gets sort of smiley at me when he has a secret. OK, really smiley. He'll just look at me, smile, and i can tell that something is up and brewing in that brain of his.

I started saying, you got work off didn't you. . . . you told them it was your wife's birthday and you had to get it off... but he was like NO! I really do have to go into work today! I was not much of a help to him to keep it a secret though either. . . i kept saying we're going on a horse ride huh, and you got work off huh, and he just kept saying no, no were not.... with his suspicious smile and look on his face. After this went on for a LONG while and matt had been thinking about how in the world we'd have enough time, i don't know if i had got it out of him or if he just gave in and said OK! That's what I wanted to do!! And wouldn't that have been so fun?! He had been talking to his dad and figuring out all these things with the horses and the trailer and everything else and was planning this cute date for me. After he spilled the beans i told him how fun that would have been and that it was the thought that counts anyway :) The reality of it was that there was no way would could do all that was planned and have him showered, and at work by 3. . . unless we got up at like 5. . . . and lets face it. . . . who wants to get up THAT early on a day off and on your birthday?? SO, we started discussing what else we could do and i had just said that it really didn't matter to me. Just a day to hang out with him. He had said that he kept asking me what I wanted to because he didn't want to plan anything that he wasn't positive I would want to do on my day. How cute. He's the best.

So this is what we actually ended up doing. . . .

-He woke me up around 7:50 and sang to me

-Had me open up one present (the big one)

-Set up "the big one"

-Went out to breakfast

-Drove over to Gateway and shopped a lil bit

-Came home got ready-we were still in our sweats at this point and it was about 12:30-1 o'clock :)

-Matt went to work while i went to Fashion Place Mall with my mamma

-Came home got ready for dinner

-Went to Cafe Rio with the hubby

-Planned to get a peach rainbow at Paces Dairy Ann but was TOO FULL to do so

-Drove up to the boulevard to watch the sunset :) and fireworks that were still going off

Needless to say that was enough. The big 21was a good one. I had so much fun and was so spoiled it was ridiculous. It was the perfect birthday. Everything I could have asked for + more. . . . .

(and YES i really did just write out every.single.detail. about my birthday ha sorry if that was completely boring to read but hey, it was a good day! haha )
